Defendant/Appellant Floyd Bruce was charged in a four-count indictment with three counts of bank fraud in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 1344 and one count of unauthorized use of an access device in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 1029(a)(5). The bank fraud charges arose from Defendants alleged use of false identification and fraudulent credit cards to obtain funds from three different banks, while the remaining charge rested upon Defendants alleged use of a credit card issued under a false name to obtain cash and merchandise of value exceeding $1,000 during a one-year period. All of these charges were based largely upon evidence found in a search of hotel rooms rented by Defendant at the time of his arrest.
